Moving away from traditional sources of energy, Calgary and the Province of Alberta look to expand their presence in the technology sector. Albertans are known for our innovate spirit and inspirational sense of community. These are exciting times that will see the Virtual and Augmented Reality grow dramatically over the next 3 years in Alberta. The establishment of a VR/AR Association chapter in Alberta will help bring knowledge and global connections to increase the rate of adoption while enhancing the business community.

THE TEAM

Chapter President Alex Jackson a.jackson@thevrara.com

Alex is the CEO and founder of Hone Virtual Education Ltd. Alex hails from a background in Emergency Services.  As a dual-trained Firefighter/Paramedic he has experience on both sides of emergency response.  Hone is delivering virtual and augmented realities to create highly immersive training experiences for First Responder’s and Healthcare Professionals. His passion for science and technology has driven Alex to advocate for the applications of AR/VR in Emergency Services and Public Safety. VR and AR technology will profoundly change the way First Responders prepare and perform when dealing with emergencies. Founding the Alberta Chapter of the VR/AR Association, the vision is to connect and grow our provincial technology ecosystem while helping drive mainstream adoption of VR and AR technologies.

Connect and build strong relationships with key players in the VR/AR ecosystem through VRARA or partner-hosted events.

COLLABORATE 

Work with innovators in the VR/AR ecosystem across all verticals, from original content creators to innovative hardware companies.
