Right after London and Berlin, Amsterdam has become the place to be for startups and tech talent. Home to large corporates like Booking.com, European HQ of Uber and Netflix, unicorns such as Adyen, as well as numerous innovative startups and accelerators, Amsterdam combines innovation, creativity, inspiration, cultural heritage and fun! Amsterdam benefits from an impressive digital infrastructure, with platforms like the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), one of the world’s largest data transport hubs. And finally, Amsterdam is a very pleasant place to live and keeps on attracting people from all over the world.

These tremendous assets make Amsterdam a very exciting place for the VR & AR world. It is home to one of the first VR cinemas, AR pioneer Layar or virtual home visits for real-estate agency Funda.

The VR/AR Association is a great opportunity to engage with VR / AR professionals, share your vision and build a more innovative ecosystem for the Amsterdam community!

“As leaders in the VR/AR & Mixed Reality, it is our role to continue to build the ecosystem and foster strategic thinking in our community. We’re at the verge of a new tech revolution driven by AR and VR. These technologies have the ability to create empathy – generate real emotions and memories. Ultimately they will dramatically change the way we live and experience our lives.
I’m thrilled to lead this initiative in Amsterdam and bring together people from different horizons to understand the power of immersive technology.”
