On Saturday, December 2, three Calgary Public Library locations will be transformed for Star Wars Day: The Library Strikes Back.
This fun one-day event — a free all-ages celebration of all things Star Wars — is your chance to celebrate the upcoming launch of the movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Come complete with costume because family-friendly cosplay is strongly encouraged!
Whether you choose the dark side or the light, the Library will have fun activities for all Star Wars fans:
Explore craft stations to create a Star Wars snowflake, build a papercraft porg, or colour an ewok ornament;
Pose for a picture with the stormtroopers of the 501st Legion;
Meet a life-size R2-D2 at the following times and locations
12-12:30 pm at Saddletowne Library
1:30-2 pm at Central Library
3-3:30 pm at Shawnessy Library
Learn to program mini versions of the movie droids: R2-D2, BB-8, R2-Q5, and BB-9E;
