This session is a fireside chat between Pradeep Khanna, Executive Director Asia Pacific and Global Co-Chair Education, VRARA and Prof. Dr. Ir. Vinesh Thiruchelvam, Deputy Vice Chancellor, APU.

We are living in a new normal shaped by once in a lifetime low probability high impact Covid event. As a result technology is becoming ever pervasive in the way we live, learn, work and socialise. Emerging technologies and in particular immersive technologies have got a significant boost in the new normal. Likewise skills and education are getting reshaped. Add the New Education Policy (NEP) to this heady mix and we find more and more higher education institutions looking to go down the VR AR XR path with lots of questions about how to undertake this journey/validation of their journey.

The session presents an Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) , Malaysia case study on:

Creative storytellers, online and web content creators and producers of audio, video and digital content can register to attend ABUdigital in Kuala Lumpur organised by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), world’s largest broadcasting union.

ABUdigital is conceived as a meeting space for digital dreamers aimed to inspire delegates with the latest digital trends, tools and best practices to guide them to adapt into digital ways of doing things.

This unique conference-slash-knowledge sharing event aspires to explore all things digital at the intersection where Technology meets Content and how it impacts broadcasters. Split into two parts consisting of a digital experts’ forum and specialized workshops, this event will look deeper into everything digital from digital strategies to digital storytelling on a wide spectrum of genres and themes including news, data, VR, documentaries, eSports and more.

It is open for content creators from Asia-Pacific and around the globe.

VRARA Malaysia Chapter is pleased to announce that we are having our Chapter event this Friday evening, 31st May, from 5.30 pm to 9.00 pm. The venue is The Nest, at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia. 

Relax, network, enjoy good food (since it's Ramadan month, food will be served after break fast timing), and share your thoughts, experiences and knowledge of VR/AR. We will have guests from the XR industry, as well as marketing agencies and guests from academia who all have something different to offer to the discussion. 

Malaysia Chapter President, Andrew Yew, will be highlighting the latest goings on within VRARA and the XR world in general. HTC will also be attending and presenting their latest hardware and software ecosystem, while VRARA members Spix and Ministry XR will be showcasing their latest products.
