The Orlando-Central Florida Chapter of the VR/AR Association is pleased to announce our next Chapter Event on September 25th from 6pm – 9pm at the Auditorium of the Orlando Science Center. This event is Open to the Public and is free.

Our theme for this event is “How Extended Reality is Transform Education and Training Globally” and we have 2 acclaimed global experts who will share the latest trends and developments with us.

Dan Ayoub - General Manager, Microsoft Education

Dan oversees initiatives in STEM/CS, Higher Education, SEL, Teacher Resources, and Mixed Reality at Microsoft. He is a passionate advocate for technology that can spark students’ innate creativity, drive deeper engagement in curriculum and make lessons accessible to every type of learner. He currently leads a team of dedicated developers aiming to reshape the future of educational technology together with education thought leaders around the world.

Prior to his current role, Dan was a 20-year veteran in the games industry and a Studio Head for 343 Industries, where he led internal and external development, studio management and product planning for Halo. His rich history in gaming has given him a unique perspective on how to engage and excite young minds to drive better learning outcomes both inside and outside of the classroom.

Alan Smithson – CEO MetaVRSE

Alan is the CEO of MetaVRse, a global Virtual, Augmented & Mixed Reality consulting and product development company. He is co-founder of XR Ignite Hyper-Accelerator, Host of XR For Business podcast and renowned XR thought leader with millions of views of his articles and videos each month.

He is an Independent Global Advisor on the Business of XR to a select group of the world's largest companies, chief investment advisors, and ultra high net worth family offices.

Mr. Smithson is a member of the VR/AR Association, IEEE Mixed Reality Ethics Committee member, Mentor for a youth entrepreneurship program called 'The Knowledge Society' (TKS) and a mentor for Techstars Toronto and is on the SXSW Pitch Advisory Board for XR. He is also a TEDx speaker and a judge for the global Auggie Awards.
