CitrusBits Launches IntelliXR, a Platform for Eye and Brain Biomarkers

VRARA member CitrusBits has launched IntelliXR, a platform that helps healthcare teams capture eye and brain biomarkers with XR. It brings together the Ocunur headset, an SDK and API, IntelliMDM for device management, and a compliance foundation. The same hardware already supports RadiusXR across more than 2,000 clinics.

Why eye and brain biomarkers matter

The eyes offer one of the clearest views into both vision and brain health. How the eyes move, how the pupil responds to light, and how a patient sees across the visual field can all carry signals that support diagnosis, treatment, and research.

XR headsets are well placed to capture these signals. They control the visual environment precisely, they can track the eyes at close range, and they can travel to wherever the patient is. What healthcare teams have needed is a single platform that brings the hardware, software, device management, and compliance together in one place. IntelliXR is that platform.

What IntelliXR includes

IntelliXR brings four parts together so they work as one from the first deployment.

1. Ocunur headset

The Ocunur headset captures eye and brain biomarkers and can be customized for specific clinical or research needs.

2. SDK and API

Developers and researchers get direct access to hardware features in a research-friendly way.

3. IntelliMDM

IntelliMDM covers updates, configuration, and monitoring, from a single headset to a full fleet.

4. Compliance foundation

The platform supports HIPAA and cybersecurity review from day one, so teams can start security conversations with documentation already prepared.

Who IntelliXR is for

IntelliXR serves the groups that bring XR into healthcare.

1. Researchers

Academic and clinical labs get raw hardware access and reproducible protocols for their studies.

2. Solution builders

Health tech startups get a ready foundation for their clinical product, without assembling hardware and infrastructure themselves.

3. Pharma and biotech

Drug development teams can use biomarker data to support trials and track outcomes.

4. CROs

Research organizations can run consistent protocols across many sites on the same hardware.

5. Device makers

Companies can customize the headset to fit a new clinical device or application.

What teams can do with IntelliXR

The platform supports work across four areas: detecting, treating, tracking, and studying conditions. Here are some examples.

  • Head-mounted visual field testing runs inside a single headset, which supports vision diagnostics.

  • Eye imaging supports the assessment of Demodex blepharitis.

  • Eye data captured in the headset supports the evaluation of dry eye disease.

  • Eye movement and pupil response measurements support neurological assessment and research.

Already in clinical use through RadiusXR

The hardware behind IntelliXR is already proven in day-to-day clinical care. RadiusXR, a vision diagnostic brand, uses the same headset hardware and platform foundation in its own product. RadiusXR's headset now serves more than 10,000 users across more than 2,000 clinics.

For teams evaluating IntelliXR, this matters because the hardware has already moved past the pilot stage. It runs daily in clinics, under real workloads, with real patients.

From London preview to launch

CitrusBits first previewed IntelliXR at the Ophthalmology Futures European Forum in London in September 2026. Gaurav Malik presented the platform to the ophthalmology community and met with researchers, clinicians, and industry partners there.

The October launch makes the platform available to research and commercial teams that want to start building on it now.

Partners across XR and healthcare

IntelliXR launches with support from organizations across XR, telecom, and healthcare. CitrusBits is a member of the VR/AR Association, which brings together companies working to grow XR across industries. IntelliXR also works with AgeTech, T-Mobile, and HLTH to reach more research and clinical teams.

A word from CitrusBits

"Healthcare teams have strong ideas for how XR can support patients, and they need a dependable foundation to bring those ideas into clinical use," said Gaurav Malik, Chief Commercial Officer at CitrusBits. "IntelliXR gives them the headset, the software, device management, and compliance in one platform, so their time goes into the research and the care that matters most."

How to get started

Research and commercial teams can learn more and request early access on the IntelliXR website. Academic researchers can also apply for research access.
