Jim Malcolm is Humaneyes’ General Manager of North America, responsible for managing the launch and success of their Vuze VR Camera, the company’s 3D-360 degree VR system. With more than 25 years of experience in imaging and virtual reality (VR) markets, Jim is the past president of the leading trade association, The Imaging Alliance, the former president and CMO of Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation, and has more than a decade of leadership roles at Sony Electronics. Jim is often quoted by industry press and has spoken at top imaging and consumer electronics trade shows including CES, APPO, RootsTech, Summit.Live, PhotoPlus and others.


Chen Zhang Chapter VP


Chen is managing partner at Part Time Evil, an immersive story studio, where she leads Experience Strategy and Business Development for the next generation of AR and VR experiences.  Chen and the Part Time Evil team are dedicated to about crafting products and stories that are not only innovative and beautiful but meet core user needs and business objectives.  Over the past 10 years, Chen has been dedicated to bringing emerging technology experiences in mobile, data visualization, and location-based entertainment to market for firms such as Samsung, DARPA, Under Armour, and Gensler.  Chen is a long-time resident of Austin. Though her role at the local chapter of the VRARA, she endeavors to bring together Austin's design, technology, and entertainment communities to further the art and craft of immersive experiences.


Sean Ong Chapter VP

With over ten years of industry experience, Sean Ong is a thought leader who has published on topics ranging from holographic computing to the economics of clean energy systems. As founder of the tech company Ong Innovations, Sean and his team actively work with clients around the globe to push the boundaries of mixed reality. He has developed experiences for many sectors, including retail, architecture, enterprise, education, and entertainment for companies located in USA, China, India, Europe, the Middle East and more. As a leader within the VR/AR Association, Sean is highly involved with the VR/AR and mixed reality communities around the globe. He is also author of “Beginning Windows Mixed Reality Programming For HoloLens and Mixed Reality Headsets.” Sean graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Seattle Pacific University. He received a Master of Engineering in 2013 from Colorado School of Mines.
