Why a Political Advocacy Committee (PAC) for VR/AR?

Political Advocacy is often mistaken as a field which is designed to mitigate threats. When done correctly and effectively, policy can be a major business growth function and can enable entire markets.

If marketing is there to make your products jump higher, political advocacy exists to change gravity. If you’re not doing both, you’re not maximizing your business. Many products have a societal value that extends beyond their immediate market value to the customer. A wind turbine, for example, does not just generate electricity for immediate consumption, it also contributes to a societal need of reducing global emissions. This societal value is important to some of the most powerful and influential consumers in the world with the power to direct markets – governments.

Focus of PAC

Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality raises a wide range of policy challenges. The entire industry can be heavily restricted or enabled in the near future depending on how policy makers decide to regulate this field.

Politicians are currently encouraged to act on regulating this field but are left to do so without information or support in guiding effective legislation and policy to incentivise the uptake of VR/AR solutions.
